Jim Ashley talked about credits available for geothermal installations. He also spoke about our need to support Renewable Energy Vermont.
Claude said that John Fehrs said at a recent TAC meeting it was brought up that you need a permit for standing column permit for geothermal for underground injection. The permits are expensive and require an annual renewal.
Claude wants to give gift baskets to speakers and have four items to raffle.
Jeff Williams talked about a subcommittee that he serves on at NGWA. They are trying to drum up support groundwater awareness week.
Jeff also mentioned that Dwayne Feeley father had passed away. He will send something from VGWA and send Margaret the bill.
Jim Ashley talked about geothermal and doing a survey on installed systems and their COP. He is working with Dr. Benjamin Luce from Lyndon State College. They want to get funding from Clean Energy Development Fund. Part of the money would go to finding out who has these installed systems. They also will be working with the Sustainable Jobs Fund. They will develop an Atlas of types of renewable energy systems and how they are working as they are installed.
Jim is suggesting that VGWA, the Home Builders and Ashrae start a working group on renewable heating/cooling systems.
Jim is also trying to respond to a horrible article that Andy Shapiro wrote in the Times Argus about some types of geothermal units. He is installing units that several of our members believe are inferior.
Meeting adjourned 5:20pm
